What's with the Weather?

Are you sick of me talking about the weather yet? Well, too bad because, here I go again. I just never realized or appreciated how bad weather affects your life, for months. We grew up where it was pretty much always great. Blue skies. Sun shining. The occasional, yet welcomed, rainy day.

Here in NY it feels like its been winter since November. We hardly had any snow, but its been bone-chilling cold for as long as I can remember. There have been moments of warmth that are few and far between, but its still pants, sweaters, and coats for the most part. Reminder: It's nearly May!!!

(A random day of Spring last week. We took advantage of it with a picnic dinner in Central Park.)

In defense of the horrid weather we've had, it does make you appreciate each season and what it has to offer. Certain activities and events are only available for a few months each year. We have lots of new things to look forward to this spring and summer and some old favorites to revisit.

Easter at the Capitol

Because it was our 10th Anniversary on the 28th...
Because we aren't a fan of spending Easter alone in the city...
Because we both had a Friday off from work...
Because it was the Cherry Blossom Festival...
We decided to go to Washington D.C. for a 3-day holiday weekend!

I'm so glad we went. The weather was beyond perfect and we finally felt warm. We got to enjoy the company of a couple of friends who live there and visit all our favorite sites. It certainly wasn't a traditional Easter, but it wasn't going to be anyway, and we certainly missed our family in AZ. I hope your Easter weekend was fabulous and full of good food and family. Here's a peek at ours...

Happy Easter! Happy Spring!
